If we take as example a simple expression, such as
2 + 3 = 5, the operator is the sign
+. The numbers
3 are the operands.
The most common kinds of operators are:
- Arithmetic Operators
- Assignment Operators
- Comparison Operators
- Logical Operators
Of course there are other kind of operators but those are the most common.
Arithmetic and assignment operators are simple, as you could see in the example
2 + 3 = 5.
The comparison and logical operators are used in conditional statements.
The other operators, that are not so common, are:
- Bitwise Operators
- Membership Operators
- Identity Operators
